This Sunday at Drouin Speedway the season wraps up with the locally supported ‘Warragul Autobarn’ Top Gun for Sedans with up to $1000 up for grabs for first across the finish line after twenty five gruelling laps also on the program will be the Division 2 Hot Rods, Junior Sedans and Standard Saloons too close out their track championships and the Mini Sprints.
Competitors for the ‘Top Gun’ include Darren Nelson, Dale Hallett & Jamie Paull up against locals Wayne Alberni & Joel Andrews and the competition is sure to be tough right from the start in this mixed bag of sedan challenge where any Victorian Speedway Council sedan can compete and you find V8’s up against 6 cylinders and everything in between.
The Division 2 Hot Rod track championship comes down to the wire with Gippsland racers Ricky Mills & Scott Laidlaw in the midst of battle for the series win that is going down to the wire.
In Standard Saloon racing the track championship is already in the bag so many of the drivers in competition on Sunday will be more focused on the club championship for Drouin Speedway members with Mark Miles, Victor Benson & Leigh Gooding all in the hunt for the overall season victory in Standard Saloons.
The Mini Sprints return & Stuart Ferguson who won last time they raced at Drouin will be tough to beat however Kevin Bomford & Matt Parsons will be keen to end the season with a win under their belts.
