Drouin Speedway is back again a couple weeks after the last meeting with great Sunday afternoon family entertainment for motoring enthusiasts at its Jindivick Road venue and the headline division for the day will be the Division 2 Hot Rods running for the Gippsland Zone title and the ‘Ace of Spades’ Vintage Sedan club as a great visiting category to the venue.
The Division 2 Hot Rods have a long history with Drouin Speedway and drivers like Andrew Galley and Richard Baker would like to get that relationship happening again for next season however to start the ball rolling the Gippsland Zone title has attracted Scott Laidlaw, Daniel Stewart, Alan Ward & Jason Seymour amongst the entries all from Gippsland. It should be great racing with around ten competitors trying to win the Zone title trophy that says they were first.
In the ‘Ace of Spades’ Vintage Sedans the fans love to see the Chev Slopers, Ford Slopers, 34 Fords and everything else they have in their show that are all sensational along with the drivers nicknames that include Intimidator, 8 Ball, Hollywood & the Gnome. They are a whole lot of great fun and folks who enjoy cars from the 1930s to the 1960s will enjoy the show.
Standard Saloons have had their numbers for this meeting increased with some Moe Speedway Club members joining in and amongst early nominations Victor Benson & Rob Tatterson should be at the front end of the field.
Ladies are programmed as are Open Sedans and both Junior Standard Saloons and SSA Junior 1200cc Sedans making sure everybody gets a go.
All the action starts at 11am with track gates opening around 8.30am so that you can get the best spot available at the picturesque venue. Adults $15, Family for 2 adults and two kids aged 12 to 16 is $40, aged and invalid pensioners $10 along with Kids 12 to 16 whilst kids under 12 are free with an adult.
