DROUIN SPEEDWAY ENTERTAINMENT PROVIDED BY MILES AND WILLIAMS

In what was essentially a club only program, Mark Miles and Sam Williams took out entertaining features races in their categories at Drouin Speedway on Sunday November 13th on a day that was supposed to bucket down with rain. The rain held off to keep the fans happy.

In Open Standard Saloons Shane Ardley, Miles and Wayne Tooze took wins in the three heats before Miles and Ardley began at the front of the feature field. Miles was fantastic with challenges from Ardley then Wayne Nelson, Miles brought his novelty race car painted as a Melbourne Taxi home first with Nelson getting the better of Ardley and Chris Leonard in fourth just ahead of Brendan Miles.

In Open Sedans Matt Nelson a first time senior racer won the first heat with Jayde Aarts the second and Nelson the last. Consistency from Williams qualified him in first with Nelson alongside. Williams and Nelson had the lead early in the race before Nelson suffered car damage and dropped back in the field. Williams took out his first Open Sedan feature win from Brad Lunn and Sonia Nelson.

Junior 1200 Sedans was a runaway win to Donald Young with Shona Bent and Tyler Barton completing the podium and Debbie Donaldson won the ladies beating Anne Gooding and Sonia Nelson.

Drouin run again on December the 11th with the fan favourite SDAV Hot Rods down for a series event and the annual ‘Moe Grain & Farm’ Eliminator Cup for Standard Saloons is the co-feature event.
