‘Moe Grain & Farm’ Eliminator Cup

The Drouin Speedway Club Committee are pleased to announce that the popular ‘Open Standard Saloons’ feature the Eliminator Cup is back again for this season.

Last year’s event was a great battle between Victorian Champion David Cull and crowd favourite Scott Whittle that came down to the last lap with Cull taking the win.

This year’s event will be run on December 12th with racing from 11am with each driver allotted 3 qualifying heat races with the top 16 in points qualifying to run the final.

The unique format for the final has all 16 qualifiers run for 8 laps before the field is reduced to 12 cars on track. The yellow flag comes out and the field regrid NASCAR style to restart for another 8 laps before another 4 cars are eliminated. The last 8 cars run for another 12 laps to determine the winner of the eliminator and the $800- first prize.

Prize money is paid down to 5th with trophies for 1st to 3rd and a best presented car cash award and unluckiest driver cash award on the day. Nominations must be in by December the 6th 8pm to drouinspeedway@gmail.com or by mail to Po Box 38 Doveton Vic 3177.

Moe Grain & Farm is a business owned and operated by Anne and Leigh Gooding and both are proud to be involved with the sponsorship of this event. Leigh himself will be a competitor on race day and Moe Grain & Farm stock all requirements for your farming needs and through their relationship with CRT can get access to anything not in store but required by the shopper.

On race day the ‘Geelong Carburettors’ Out & About Series for Junior ASCF Sedans that was washed out on November the 14th along with Ladies and Junior Standard Saloons and Division 2 Hot Rod’s will make up an action packed program.

The Division 2 Hot Rods will be racing their ‘Rock Series’ round on this day which last season’s had around 20 cars enter at Drouin.

Family Fun With Dad, Mum & The Kids

This coming Sunday the 14th of November Drouin Speedway is filled with family action with races for men, ladies and the kids ensuring a great days racing with a long racing program for all to enjoy.

The feature category of the day is the ‘Out & About’ Junior Sedan series with their 1200cc stock cars and some ripper little drivers set to entertain. With kids coming from west of the West gate Bridge right down to Langwarrin there will be great racing from Chris Heard, Brooke & Josh Buckingham, Mick Gorman, Brody Chrystie, recent Bacchus Marsh winner Dylan Campton, Donald Young, Brodie Montague & Drouin’s Brendan Miller.

The Speedway Go Karts have a big meeting with 30 plus Karts in attendance from their senior categories to do their Junior class.

In Club Sedans the Men’s Standard Saloons have around 20 entries including last start winner Wayne Nelson whilst the Ladies and Junior Standards have a dozen or so competitors each. VSC Open Sedans are programmed and have some new Drouin registered drivers excited about establishing themselves at Drouin. Whilst Division 2 Hot Rods are also programmed.

All the action starts at 11am with track gates opening around 8am so that you can get the best spot available at the picturesque venue. Adults $15, Family for 2 adults and two kids aged 12 to 16 is $40, aged and invalid pensioners $10 along with Kids 12 to 16 whilst kids under 12 are free with an adult.
