Drouin Speedway opened the gates again on March the 16th and things looked promising despite the threat of bad weather for much of the afternoon until the heavens opened up around mid afternoon and the race meeting was closed down as a non event.<\/p>\n
The Victory Lane Racegear Wingless Sprint series had assembled in the pits to run the Drysdale Chaff Mills Wingless 500 and twenty four competitors got through two rounds of heats before the sky took over.<\/p>\n
Six heat races were won by Pakenham\u2019s Brad Warren, Wayne Hurford from Bass, Gary Bowden from Clifton Creek and then in the second round by Morwell\u2019s Peter Logue, Mark Laity from Bairnsdale & Luke Cole.<\/p>\n
Peter Laity, Warren & Hurford were amongst the stronger performers on the day.<\/p>\n
Returning sedan racer Bruce Bullard won both the Open Sedan heat races with Tim Hutchinson and Nar Nar Goon racer Jaedn Alberni also performing well.<\/p>\n
In Standard Saloons three of a required four heat races required to constitute a race meeting were completed. Leigh Gooding, Aaron Price and Mark Miles won those heats with Jacob Vuillermin, Miles, Price & Patrick Vuillermin were looking the strongest in the field.<\/p>\n
In Junior 1200 sedans Caleb Lincoln over three heats defeated Casey Ingram from Rosedale Speedway Club and Wayne Furmston.<\/p>\n
Drouin Speedway returns with racing on April the 13th with the Victorian State title for the Crash and Bash division and a full capacity stadium is expected as these high powered machines race to finish and keep out of the clutches of those that dare to spin them out of contention. <\/p>\n
