Victoria\u2019s persistent rain ruined Drouin Speedway on Sunday the 12th of December when racing was finally halted at 3pm after a heavy downpour ending hopes of being able to complete the Moe Grain and Farm \u2018Eliminator Cup\u2019 for Standard Saloons.<\/p>\n
The Standard Saloon\u2019s feature race will now be scheduled to finish at the January 9 race meeting where the last round of heats and the feature race will be run along with the scheduled race events.<\/p>\n
Six heats were completed with David Cull the current Victorian Champion, Drouin club members Jason Leonard and Wayne Nelson winning the round one heats and Brad Brighton, Ash Fyffe and Matt Magor winning the second round heats.<\/p>\n
After round two Cull, Fyffe and Magor are the top three in points with sixteen to qualify for the feature at January the 9ths meeting.<\/p>\n
Division 2 Hot Rods were running the Mad Mile Motors series Round one and they were able to get 3 heats of 4 run before rain ended the day. Alan McKinnon, Gordon Angus and Scott Laidlaw won the three heats.<\/p>\n
Junior Sedans were trying for the second time to run their Out & About \u2018Geelong Carburettors\u2019 and unfortunately they got to run two heats of the 3 scheduled and of course missed out on the final.<\/p>\n
January the 9th will see the return of the Wingless Sprints to Drouin along with Limited Sportsman, Vintage Super Modifieds and Speedway Karts along with the finish of the Open Standard Saloons event.<\/p>\n
