RACING, MEMORIES & MAYHEM ALL AT DROUIN SPEEDWAY THIS SUNDAY

This Sunday the 19th of October sees Drouin Speedway Club get their season underway with so much variety there is something for everybody to enjoy from Vintage Super Modifieds and Sedans from as way back as the 30s to today’s divisions such as Crash & Bash & a round of the Standard Saloon track championship series.

Who can forget last season’s Victorian Crash & Bash title won by local race driver Goose Young, well those crazy madmen & women will be at it again as they bump & grind their way through heat racing before the mayhem of the final where the big hits occur!

The 1200cc Junior Sedans will run the first round of their track championship as will the Junior Standard Saloons. Standard Saloons the leading regular division at Drouin Speedway will begin their track championship series also with the likes of Leigh Gooding, Bunyip’s, Jeff Blencowe & Travis Evans amongst those whom should be amongst the front runners.

The Super Modifieds have some beautiful machinery amongst their club & it is the cars that people come to see. Some V8 powered open wheelers with the old teardrop wings on top of the roof to help ground the car to the track are a memory of how things were back in the day. Bring Grandpa along to have a look at him tell you the stories from back in the 70s & 80s of the great racing he got to see.

The Vintage Sedan ‘Ace of Spades’ Club likewise are all about the cars. In fact these Ford T Model, Chev Slopers & other makes of Sedan they bring include drivers towing them to the venue with their hot rod roadsters.

Ladies Standard Saloons & VSC Unlimited Sedans complete the total show.
